This painting was inspired by a visit to Florida. I actually don't like snakes but I felt compelled to do this painting. I was moved by the beauty of a snake I saw in captivity to visualize it free in the garden.

I paint because I love to paint. Of course I'm happy to sell my work but for me each painting is an adventure, a digging into myself to see what I can do. I love nature. Many of my paintings are places in natural settings that I have visited. It is my attempt to share the beauty and the feelings that I saw and felt when I was there. I like to experiment with new ideas while I paint. I love art. One of my favourite things to do is to visit galleries and museums. Before I became an artist, or knew that I was an artist, I loved looking at the art created by other artists. It makes me so happy when someone loves my work enough to want to put it into their home.
